Prevention 1st was awarded a federal Safe Routes to School grant to address the health promotion and safety issues involving children walking or biking to and from school.
Prevention 1st created and delivered a pilot program for Rochester City School #2 (Clara Barton School) that included family education and a bike rodeo. We recruited a project team that included the University of Rochester Injury Free Coalition, Rochester Police Department, Rochester Fire Department, Community Health Strategies and Fireproof Children.
