Who We Are

Unintentional injuries are the #1 cause of death for Americans from ages 1 to 44. Yet, they are largely preventable.

Prevention 1st, now a program of Lifespan, provides effective, evaluated, research-based training and materials to promote safer behavior and to prevent and reduce unintentional injuries.

Our projects provide injury prevention training, education and/or materials to vulnerable populations. These populations at higher risk for injury include children, families in low-income communities, individuals with developmental disabilities, and older adults.
