Home Fire Drill Poster Contest Winners' Prize: Lunch With Firefighters!

Two Rochester Fire Department firehouse teams showed their appreciation to winners of the 2016 Prevention 1st Home Fire Drill Poster Contest this month.

Kue Nae Htoo of the Rochester International Academy, who won first place in the Middle School category for her poster with the message “Test Your Alarms,” visited the Lyell Avenue Firehouse. Taleah Ortiz of Kodak Park School #41, the Elementary School winner for her message to “Get Out and Stay Out” when alarms go off, visited the Dewey and Ridgeway Avenue Firehouse. Each got to bring along some lucky friends, enjoyed lunch with the firefighters, and tried on some firefighter gear!

Winners in each grade category also received two Wal-Mart gift certificates, one for the student and one for classroom art supplies.
